Kobe Marui (OIOI) is a popular department store in Kobe’s central Sannomiya district, which has around 70 different boutiques and stores across five floors.
Kobe Marui mainly stocks ladies’ fashion aimed at the 25 to 35 age range. This includes clothes, shoes, cosmetics, bags and other accessories. However, on the 1st floor there are some “gourmet” stores and cafes and on the 5th floor there is a used camera store. Below are some of the highlights of Kobe Marui.
On the 1st floor there are a number of stores selling cosmetics and accessories. The “event space” on this floor hosts different pop-up stores selling a variety of select accessories and other goods. This can be a good spot to find unusual and unique gifts and souvenirs.
“Tezukuri Ichiba” means “Handmade Market” in Japanese. True to its name, this store on the 1st floor sells a variety of handcrafted ladies’ accessories.
Cosme Kitchen sells natural and organic beauty, skin-care and hair-care products.
Gelato Pique sells luxury lounge-wear and nightwear for men and women.
Grab a cup of coffee and a doughnut at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts or visit one of the other cafes on this floor which include a Korean macaroon cafe called Licorne, and the Lindt Chocolate Cafe where you can enjoy luxury Swiss chocolate and ice cream.
On the 2nd floor you can find ladies fashion and swimwear. Laulea Milano is a select store selling imported ladies’ swimwear brands alongside accessories and bags.
Jill by Jill Stuart sells feminine clothes for every occasion aimed at women in their 20s.
Mila Owen sells sophisticated clothing aimed at ladies in their late 20s and 30s.
Snidel sells elegant ladieswear suitable for both formal and casual occasions.
On the 3rd floor you can find more ladies’ fashion, cosmetics, sunglasses and lingerie. Furisode Mode is a store where you can rent or buy kimono suitable for graduations, coming of age ceremonies or other formal occasions.
The Mary Quant store sells mainly cosmetics but also bags and other accessories.
A. R. Azalea Rose sells cute but elegant party dresses.
Rienda sells edgy, urban fashion suitable for young professionals.
On the 4th floor you can find more ladies’ fashion and a variety of ladies shoe stores. Eye Shop Five is a contact lens specialty store where you can buy prescription and non-prescription lenses including clear and colored lenses.
Randa sells trendy and eye-catching ladies’ shoes and boots.
Sly sells ladies’ fashion with a casual, girly style.
The 5th floor has a variety of shops and services. Here you can find an Apple repair shop, a dental clinic, an English language school, a life insurance store and a used clothing shop. Kitamura Camera on this floor sells new and used cameras and you can also sell your used camera here.
Best Life is a store that buys jewelry, watches and antiques.
Location
Kobe Marui is located directly across from Hankyu Kobe-Sannomiya Station. The station and Kobe Marui are directly connected by a 2nd-floor walkway. The central location of this department store makes it convenient for the other stations in Sannomiya too.
This area is something of a shoppers’ paradise as the Kobe Hankyu department store, the Mint Kobe shopping mall and the Sannomiya Center Gai shopping street are all nearby too. Here is a map showing Kobe Marui’s location.
